A massive mango tree came crashing down onto two adjacent houses on Monday night near the revered Datta Temple in Chapora, leaving a mother and her daughter injured and causing extensive damage to the properties.

The neighbours rushed to their rescue and called the emergency services for the help. The collapse has not only damaged the houses but has instilled fear and anxiety among residents. The emergency services rushed to the scene and cleared

Recalling the terrifying ordeal, Pramila Parab, one of the victims, described the moments when the tree fell. "My daughter was sitting near our house gate when suddenly out of nowhere the tree came crashing down on her. Without hesitation, I rushed to save her," she recounted. "I was pulling my daughter from under the weight of the tree, and thankfully, other family members quickly came to our aid."

When questioned about the possible cause of the collapse, Pramila pointed to recent tree-trimming activities. "A few days back, the branches of the tree were cut down, leaving the entire weight of the remaining branches on one side, which faced towards us. This imbalance likely led to the tree collapsing," she explained. Both mother and daughter sustained minor injuries and are currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital.
