Kumbharkhand Villagers Struggle for Efficient Water Supply for Three Months; March to PWD Office to Address Crisis

Team Herald

As the summer heat intensifies, the residents of Kumbharkhand village have been facing a daunting challenge - a severe shortage of water supply. For the past three months, the villagers have been tirelessly trying to raise their voices and bring attention to the dire situation, but to no avail. Finally, they have taken matters into their own hands and marched to the PWD office to demand a solution to their water crisis.

The villagers have alleged that the PWD official responsible for the water supply in their village is rarely available at the office. This has caused significant delays in addressing the issue and has only added to the frustrations of the villagers. Despite continuous pleas and complaints, the officials have not taken any responsibility to improve the water supply situation, leaving the villagers with no choice but to take action themselves.

The lack of access to water has been a daily struggle for the villagers, with some even going without water for days. While the Sarpanch of the village has attempted to provide some relief by sending water tankers, it is only done once every two days, leaving the villagers to suffer in between.

In a desperate attempt to find a permanent solution, the villagers had submitted a written application to the PWD office, requesting better water supply. However, due to the unavailability of the official, their application could not be submitted. The villagers have also noticed that the neighboring ward receives consistent and efficient water supply, leaving them wondering why their village is being neglected.

The PWD officials, on the other hand, have been giving excuses for the lack of water supply, blaming it on pipeline damage or other factors. However, the villagers are not willing to accept these excuses any longer and are demanding action to be taken immediately.

One of the solutions proposed by the villagers is to connect their village's pipeline to the one that supplies efficient water to the neighboring ward. This would not only solve their current water problems but also provide a long-term solution to avoid such crises in the future.
