COLMOROD- NAVELIM: Dashing Boys of Arlem defeated Sarzora Boys 4-3 via the tie-breaker to emerge as champions in the 5-a-side football tournament, at Colmorod ground, Navelim.
Rohan Prabhu and Ronaldo Gomes scored for Dashing Boys and Sarzora Boys respectively in the normal time. In the tie-breaker, Dashing Boys proved to be better shooters.
Dashing Boys were awarded Rs 60,000 plus trophy while Sarzora Boys had to be content with a purse of Rs 40,000 plus trophy.
Ronaldo Gomes of Sarzora Boys was adjudged as best player of the tournament while Valu Fernandes of Dashing Boys was the best goalkeeper of –the-tournament. Churchill Alemao was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Ghansham Prabhu Shirodkar and other dignitaries.
