PANJIM: Diya Sawal, Ethan Vaz and Reuben Colaco made Goa proud by winning medals at The MPL 10th National School Championships 2022, organised on behalf of the All India Chess Federation (AICF) by All Odisha Chess Association (AOCA) at KIIT University, Bhubaneshwar, recently.
Diya Sawal scored 9 points and won gold in U-9 girls category while Ethan Vaz scored 7 points and won Silver in U-11 Open category, and Reuben Colaco scored 7 points and won bronze in U-15 Open category.
Valanka Fernandes scored 6 points to finish in the 11th place in U-13 Girls category, securing a spot in the Top 12 Prize List.
Rishit Gawas scored 5.5 points in U-7 open category, while Edrick Vaz scored 5 points in U-13 open category, and Rohit Gawas scored 4 points in U-15 open category.
The championships consisted of twelve 9-round Swiss System tournaments in the age categories of U-7, U-9, U-11, U-13, U-15, and U-17, each in open and girls categories separately.
