RAIA: Orlim Veterans blanked Viva Veterans North 3-0 to book final berth in the 2nd Kala Mogi All-Goa veterans football tournament organised by Kala Mogi Veterans, Betalbatim, at Betalbatim panchayat ground, on Thursday.
In first session of play, Robert Fernandes ran down in the very 5th minute beating the rival defence and goalkeeper to score the first goal for Orlim Veterans.
After resumption of second half, Viva Veterans North’s Alex Alvares powerful shoot hit the crossbar and went out of play. Sandip of Orlim Veterans scored a brace in 35th and 39th minute to seal the fate of Viva Veterans North and enter the final to be played on April 28.
In another match, Calangute Veterans edged past Fatorda Veterans 5-4 via tie-breaker to book semi-finals berth after being held to a goalless draw at the end of regulation time. Earlier, Mitra Veterans moved past Betalbatim Veterans 5-4 via tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals.
