PANJIM: Goa Olympic Association felicitated prominent sports personalities from the state for recognising their achievements and merits in the sport, on Wednesday.
At KTC Bus stand, Panjim the following sailors were felicitated: Asian Games participant 2018 Dayne Coelho, Asian Games 2018 and Youth Olympics 2014 participant Katya Coelho, National Youth Champion 2018 – Russell Lobo, Pradhan Mantri Bal Shakti Puraskar awardee Pearl Colvalcar and Senior National Women Silver Medallist Keona Rajani. Circumnavigator Cdr. Abhilash Tomy was the chief guest which was graced by officials of Goa Yachting Association namely Sidharth Satardekar (President) and Keith D’ Souza (Gen. Secretary).
At Aga Khan Park, Margao, sports personalities from table tennis and swimming were felicitated.
In table tennis, Anshuman Agarwal, Nagesh Verekar, Jayz Gomes, Sanisha Shetye and Trisha Verlekar were felicitated whereas swimmers / coaches who were felicitated were Thomas Jose, P. Narcimallu, Deepak Chhetry, Keshav Naik and Dayanand Patil. Coach Raja Dayal, and Goa TT Association officials Sudin Verenkar and Nilesh Kirtani graced the table tennis felicitation while Deepal Sawal (Vice Chairperson, Margao Municipality) and Sudesh Nagvekar (Secretary, Goa Swimming Association) graced the swimming felicitation programme.
