PANJIM: FC Goa have finally seemed to gained momentum in the Indian Super league after recording 10 points from possible 12. The side which started sloppy will look to extend their current form as they look to leapfrog their opponents, ATK Mohun Bagan to second spot with three points at Fatorda Stadium, on Sunday.

ATK Mohun Bagan are a fine team having a strong defence and this would mean, FC Goa’s defence face a strong task against the Kolkata outfit. However, Gaurs coach Juan Ferrando, stated that it’s an opportunity for his side to get three points.

“All the games are very important for us. Of course, tomorrow is a nice game against a good team and a new opportunity to get three points and to improve as a team. All the teams will be better in the second round. We have to change some details and prepare with different plans. We also have more options and we have to find the best way forward for the team,” said Ferrando.

The match between ATK Mohun Bagan and FC Goa will see a clash of styles as counterattacking ATK Mohun Bagan take on FC Goa who prefer to play possession based football.

“In the end, you know that the ATK Mohun Bagan squad is very competitive and it's the same with us. I hope tomorrow will be a very good game. Both teams want to win three points and I think the result will be a beautiful game for sure,” stated Ferrando speaking about their opponents, who are also on a fine run in the competiton.

“Every game is crucial. The problem is that the season is short and every game is very important. For example, yesterday we were talking about Kerala (Blasters) going three points behind the play-off (sports) if they would have won the game,” he stated.

Against Jamshedpur, Ferrando has a different line-up with their top goal scorer Igor Angulo along with first choice keeper Nawaz being benched. This showed Ferrando is not dependent on any player and rather has a squad which is up for the challenge whenever called upon.
