MAPUSA: Football Club of Tuem halted the winning run of Celtic Queens FC by defeating them by 5-2 margin in the ICW Fixture 2 Group C match played at Duler Stadium, here, on Tuesday.

It was another win for the home side after they had humbled CBFC by 6-0 margin. Both teams have six points each with Celtic Queens playing three matches.

Two brilliant passes by medio Laxmi Tamang saw Pearl Fernandes and Pushpa Parab score in the first session of play for FC Tuem eves. Just five minutes on crossing ends, Laxmi Tamang latched a 25-yard rasping shot into the back of the nylons 3-0.

Laxmi almost netted a brace in the very next minute but her right footer from inside the 18-yard box was saved by Celtic eves goalkeeper Pushpa Kumari.

However, the goalkeeper could do very little to stop FC Tuem’s Pushpa Parab from netting her brace, 4-0.

Celtic Queens FC eves had just one golden opportunity to reduce the margin in the 55th minute but FC Tuem’s custodian Ashika Gadekar left her charge to thwart Simran Gurung in one to one situation.

Never say die spirit finally saw Celtic Queens score from substitute Tanvi Kore’s header 4-1.

Pepped up by the goal, Celtic Queens FC eves netted their second goal with Anjali Chhetri find the net off Tanvi Kore’s pass, 4-2. Pushpa Parab netted her hat-trick with a brilliant left footer, 5-2.

In the dying minutes of the match, FC Tuem were awarded a penalty but Sibani Sharma strike rebounded off the crossbar.

In the evening match, SAG Football Academy, Gujarat, registered a well-deserved 3-0 win over City Bahadurgarh FC.

In the very 1st minute, Shilpa Thakur scored with Bhumishra Dravid netting a brace by scoring in each session of play.
