MASHEM: Tudal High School defeated Nirakar High School by 44 runs to win the Dilip Sardesai Trophy U-16 Canacona taluka inter-school cricket tournament organised by Goa Cricket Association, at Nirakar Sports Complex, Mashem, recently.

Tudal High School won the toss and elected to bat. 

They put up 139 for the loss of 8 in the allotted 20 overs. Aryan Gaonkar (41) and Kalpesh Velip (24) put up 70 runs in the opening partnership. 

Vishvesh Devidas also contributed with his 20 runs. 

The Nirakar HS bowlers gave away 38 extras. Shubham Vernekar scalped three wickets while Udit Mulgaonkar took two wickets and Deep Desai picked a wicket. 

In reply, Deep Desai (34) and Samprabh Phaldesai (15) partnership of 48 runs could not help Nirakr to reach the target as they were bundled out for 95 runs in 18.4 overs. 

A good bowling spell by Prathamesh Chari 4-16-3 and Ashish Gaonkar 4-16-3 resticted the opponents. 

Tudal High School now qualified to play for inter-taluka matches.
