PANJIM: United Club of Telaulim registered a comfortable 4-0 win over Futebol Club Youth Futsal Academy in the Goa Football Association Vedanta Women’s League at Rosary ground, Navelim.

Karen Estrocio continued her rich goal-scoring form in the game and scored two goals while Rizella Cia Almeida and Stessi Cardozo also got on the score sheet scoring a goal each.

United Club of Telaulim scored as early as in the second minute when a defensive mix between the YFA goalkeeper Annette DaCosta and a defender saw Karen capitalising on the opportunity and driving the ball at the back of the net to score the team’s first goal.

Telaulim then doubled the score in the 21st minute when YFA keeper Annette failed to deal with Jossel Mascarenhas’ cross wherein Karen was there at the right place and right time to put the ball into the goal to make it 2-0.

Just before the breather, Telaulim’s most hard-working player Rizella scripted her name on the scoresheet in the 41st minute with a long range shot which had no answer from the rival keeper. The winners led 3-0 at the break.

Telaulim side scored their fourth in the 82nd minute through Stessi, who also scored from a distance. UC Telaulim’s Rizella Almeida was awarded the player of the match by GFA Executive Committee member and Referee Committee chairman Franky Fernandes.

Meanwhile at Duler stadium, Mapusa, the match between FC Goa and Sirvodem SC was called off in the second half due to bad weather. The teams were tied 0-0 till the time the match was called off. The decision on playing the remainder of the game will be taken by GFA.
