All it took was one trailer to drive the
‘Avengers’ fans crazy and start counting the days leading to the release of the
film. Post the massive success that ‘The Avengers’ (2012) enjoyed, the sequel,
‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, has the humongous responsibility of raising the bar
even higher and living to the hype and expectation that it has created through
its superbly crafted teasers and extended trailers. It is interesting to note
that ‘The Avengers’ still holds the all time record for the second biggest
opening day collections worldwide, beaten only by ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly
Hallows Part 2’.
Right from its first teaser that consisted
of the haunting use of ‘I Got No Strings’ from Pinocchio as the background
score, the filmmakers have managed to successfully build sizeable hype and
suspense around the film. Team Marvel was quite vocal about the introduction of
two new characters and about the fact that one of the characters in the film is
going to die… which character it is, nobody knows yet. Then there are questions
such as ‘Who is Ultron exactly?’ and ‘Why is Hulk fighting the Iron Man in one
of the teasers?’
All these questions and more will be
answered today as ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ finally releases in theatres across
Goa. Written and directed by Joss Whedon and produced by Kevin Feige, Marvel’s
‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series
‘The Avengers’, first published in 1963.
