Beggars menace

The increase of beggars in Goa coming from outside the State should push the government to curb beggars by rehabilitating them and sending them back to their home town. A monetary community or child line for child beggars or agencies working for the welfare of children should be set up. The beggars should be rounded up and kept in a rehabilitation center where they should be provided vocational training in gardening and painting. There are people in Goa who give food and clothing and even medicines to the beggars. The police should open a control room to inform the police about beggars especially children. There is reason to believe that some of the beggars are employed by organized gangs. They employ mostly children and disable them on purpose to beg. Goa gets a lot of tourists from around the world who are disturbed when they see these beggars, who also harass them.
