Frequent recurring accidents related to road, rail, drowning, stampede and lately of the selfies in India are the highest in number than occurring of such type of accidents in any other country in the world, in the fatalities and serious injuries. Due to over population (India is approaching near-by 130 cr), lack of infrastructure and proper facilities, conditions become the worst & presently its trend is worsening day by day.
In the financial capital Mumbai, local trains are the most suitable, cheaper, quick in action in speeding & convenient for conveyance than any other type of mode of transport to reach the destinations to and fro. During the peak hours around 10 am and 5 pm, there is heavy rush to embark and disembark the local trains. The railway platforms, all over, on all the railway stations are flooded with seas of human. Nearly 70l commuters (OMG!, It is a miracle) travel daily through/via the local trains. Nobody knows who is in the front and in the rear. The only aim to speed up, rush & catch the local train to get in at any how & at any cost, be of the own life.
Nowadays; the precious human life has become like a bubble on the fountain that vanishes within no time & everything is lost for the bereaved families. The existence becomes non-existence on the spot. The human life has become the cheapest of all and lost its credit in a true sense of meaning, pride & value. After the accidents, government authorities count the number of deaths occurred (& put a tag on forehead of the dead body, showing the number given to him/her for further reference). Those who are injured (non-fatal) are sent to the govt. hospitals for treatment. Also an immediate announcement is made for giving compensation to the kin/relative of the deceased & to those who are injured. Simultaneously an assurance is given deluded that necessary precautions will be taken to avoid such accidents in the future. But practically nothing that of sort happens and the accidents take place recurrently which are of perennial nature at all the times, be it of railway or other types.
The urgent need of the hour is that Indian Railways should audit all the Foot over Bridges (FOBs) of Rly stations, not only in Mumbai, but all over on railway’s net and carry out immediate repairs.
