Collect moments

As I happened to be a sales professional, travelling by road, rail and air became second nature in my long sales career. I did travel to most populace, humid, rainy, freezing cold, war torn, peaceful, highly-polluted and pristine geographies to further  sales volume and in search of better prospects within and abroad.

I did experience joyfulness the moment I landed in certain cities and sick feelings in certain others, irrespective of whether I am selling or not in those cities. I experimented several times and still I feel a blocked nose the moment I landed in this particular city and every time I visit Kerala I feel in the pink of my health! Travel means different things to each of us, however the benefits gained through travel are far-reaching and last long after we return from a trip. Here, I outline why travel can have such a positive effect on your life and discuss some of the benefits of travelling. We can discover different aspects to our character when travelling, that we hadn’t appreciated before. It can be something as simple as chatting to a local when you never considered yourself as a sociable person. This new found knowledge can give you confidence for similar situations back home.

Travel exposes us to so many new and different things and experiences. Your awareness alters and you begin to question what is important to you as an individual. Visiting poorer countries, those who have suffered tragedies, oppression or genocide cannot fail to have an impact on you psychologically.

You begin to question your own values, your feelings and even the purpose of your life. With this new sense, you may decide you want to live differently or for your life to take a new direction.

Everyone has their own idea of what a vacation is. Maybe it’s lounging by the pool and drinking cocktails, or perhaps it’s backpacking in the mountains or visiting religiously important places for worshipping. Are you hoping to relax and get away from a bustling city? Do you enjoy visiting historical, cultural, and archaeological sites? Do you love being in nature, or do you prefer a city with all of its conveniences? Thinking about these questions will help you narrow down your list of potential destinations.

Your budget is another critical factor to consider. Some destinations are extremely popular with tourists, especially during certain times of the year. This can make these destinations expensive and crowded. If you prefer some peace for your vacation and want to save money, don’t follow the crowd when choosing a travel destination.

You also need to consider how time will affect how much you can do during your trip. If you visit a large country and want to see everything it has to offer, you’ll need to plan a long trip. But if you only have a short time to visit, don’t try to do everything. Pick a few activities or sights you want to see and plan ahead what day you can do each one. You might not make it to all of them, but the important thing is to enjoy the time you have.

If you can’t fly, then sail. If you can’t sail, then drive. If you can’t drive then travel by train or foot and collect moments.
