PONDA: Two persons died in two separate accidents that occurred at Usgao and Shiroda, on Tuesday.

In an accident between a car and two-wheeler at Tisk-Usgao, scooter rider Mahesh Vasudev Gaude (43), local of Nanus-Usgao lost his life while in an another accident between a truck and scooter at Shiroda, pillion rider Javed Jabir Khan (24), resident of Shantinagar, Ponda and native of Uttar Pradesh, died on the spot.
In the accident that took place at Usgao at 12.30 pm, driver of car Tom Xevior, native of Kerala and residing at Kasaile-Usgao stopped his car at Usgao to purchase medicine and all of sudden opened the driver side door, without ensuring that there are vehicles coming from behind, due to which the Pulsor rider coming from behind dashed to the driver side door and sustained serious injuries on the head and body and while undergoing treatment at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim succumbed to his injuries in the evening at 4.30.
While in another accident that took place around 5 pm at Dabolim- Shiroda between a truck and Activa scooter, the pillion rider Javed died on the spot.
Activa scooter rider was proceeding from Ponda to Savordem while the truck was proceeding from Savordem to Ponda direction and when they reached at Dabolim-Shiroda there was headon collusion between the two due to which the pillion rider died on spot while rider Safikur Rehman (22), resident of Shantinagar and also native of Uttar Pradesh sustained simple injuries.
