PANJIM: Panjim police have seized nearly Rs 13,000 cash and arrested three persons at separate gambling dens during raids carried out in and around the capital city on Friday and Saturday.
The three bookies were caught red-handed accepting bets at three different places in Tambdi Mati, St Inez; Shankarwadi-Taleigao and Panjim ferry point. While two bookies were caught with cash of Rs 320 and Rs 540 cash, the third accused was found with Rs 12,155 cash in his possession. This is the fourth raid in the last week. On October 28, Panjim police had arrested nine persons including seven matka bookies.
