MERCES: Stating that he will try his best to retain the St Cruz seat for Congress, Babush Monserrate assured that he will bring development on the lines of Taleigao in St Cruz constituency and also strive to provide one government job in each family.
Babush was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of opening of the Congress office in Merces.
Speaking further, Babush urged voters to give him one chance to bring about a change and that he will repay them by fulfilling all promises in his manifesto.
When questioned whether the development will come at the cost of the environment, Babush replied in the negative and said he will take all stakeholders into consideration before undertaking any project in the constituency.
On allegations that he is eyeing vacant land for builders, Babush blamed the Opposition for spreading such false propaganda and advised them to concentrate on their campaign instead of maligning others.
“I have come in St Cruz with a plan and my opposition doesn’t have any,” he said and added that they are only trying to cover up their mistakes by pointing fingers at others.
On the question that his entry in St Cruz has made the constituency hypersensitive, Babush chided such claims and informed that he is lover of peace who has come to spread peace among the constituents and not to confront anyone.
Stating that he is not taking elections in St Cruz and Taleigao lightly, Babush opined that the voters can never be taken lightly and that he values each and every vote.
“To see to it that I reach out to every voter, I will be campaigning from 8 am to 7 pm,” he said and added that he will give equal time for campaigning in Taleigao.
