CALANGUTE: The Block Development Officer (BDO) Bardez, along with members of the Calangute panchayat on Thursday conducted a site inspection of an alleged illegal road constructed by a builder in survey no 27/3-A at Naikawaddo, Calangute. The inspection was carried out following directions from the Directorate of Panchayats.
The Calangute Constituency Forum (CCF) had lodged a complaint with the Chief Secretary and other authorities that the developers had constructed a road by illegally clearing forest land causing indiscriminate destruction of a natural habitat and also leading to increased risk of landslides and other environmental hazards.

A nullah belonging to the Calangute communidade was also allegedly encroached on by the builder.
The road was allegedly built to connect the property bearing survey no 27/3-A to the main road.
