PANJIM: “Such is the power of the people that it forced the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to change track from his usual ‘political tourist’ comment and acknowledge Goa Trinamool’s slogan, ‘Goenchi Navi Sakal’, said Goa Trinamool leader Yatish Naik.
Yatish was reacting to an earlier comment made by the Chief Minister who claimed that, ‘looking at Goa’s new dawn (Goenchi Navi Sakal), I definitely feel that 27 BJP MLAs will be elected in 2022 Assembly Elections’.
He said, “Clearly, the BJP is jittery with the kind of mass inductions that are taking place across the State every single day. Given the trend and the massive anti-incumbency, I am sure Goa TMC will sweep the elections as Goans now have a credible alternative that will rid them of the current lame-duck, non-performing government.”
Hitting out at the Chief Minister who on October 8 promised that the government job recruitment process will be completed before Code of Conduct, Lavu Mamledar, newly inducted member of Goa TMC said, “This is nothing but another sham in the face of Goans. If the Chief Minister was so serious about employment and potholes, why did he deprive the citizens of Goa of basic necessities for five years? All infrastructure work is now being hastened, why? Clearly, it is the entry of Goa Trinamool into the poll bound state that is forcing the BJP to course correct. But this is too little, too late.”
