A mud wall of a collapsed house situated in the vicinity of Shree Khashteshwar Ghumti, at Adpai in Ponda, proves dangerous for the lives of the travellers and pedestrians proceeding along this route.
The wall is likely to collapse at any instance thereby resulting in injuries to human lives and also cause damage to the proceeding vehicles.
I doubt whether the elected representatives at the village panchayat viz the VP of Adpai-Durbhat has taken a note of this serious matter.
Sometime back a similar instance existed at Fondvem, Ribandar wherein an exposed wall along the main road had proved dangerous for public at large. However, it was only on the intervention of social activist advocate Aires Rodrigues that the dangerous wall was demolished in consultation with the concerned owner of the said house.
As a result a possible tragedy that would have occurred sooner or later was averted on a permanent basis. I sincerely request the MLA of Marcaim Constituency Sudin Dhavalikar to inspect this particular wall at Adpai that has been lying precariously along the main road and issue necessary instructions to the panchayat members to demolish the same (in consultation with the owner of this particular house).
As on December 7, the situation in this sensitive matter was found to be unchanged. Of course, prevention is better than cure. Hence, it is absolutely necessary for the village panchayat to initiate favourable action on war basis so that safety is assured to precious human lives on a permanent basis.
