Stray Cattle in Mapusa Pose Nighttime Hazard for Motorists

With stray cattle loitering on the roads in Mapusa even at night, looks like the municipal authorities are in no mood to impound them.

These bovines often squat right in the middle of the road and refuse to budge just making it difficult for motorists and riders to safely commute at nights. This is the festive season and the authorities need to wake up and act before precious lives are lost.

During the day, large herds of stray cattle inconvenience people even at the bus stand. People have a tough time driving them away in the market with huge angry testosterone-charged bulls often sniffing and snorting at the poor fruit and vegetable vendors trying to protect their wares. Scooterists and motorists have to be extra cautious as there is every possibility of them either being gored by the animals or colliding against them.

Besides a large number of accidents are caused by stray cattle sitting on roads. The city fathers have to take a stand on this issue immediately as both the animals and commuters will continue to suffer if the issue is not sorted out.
