It is observed that there is a frequent build-up of garbage at the Vasco fish-market. The situation becomes worse during the weekend and when there is an extended weekend as the garbage is not removed.
In the absence of a wire-mesh garbage cage, the waste gets strewn all over the place and onto the road as seen in the photo. This waste attracts stray cattle and stray dogs which feed on it.

The waste raises a terrible stink and can prove to be a health hazard to those visiting the fish-market. It would be desirable for the civic body to install a wire-mesh garbage cage at the spot so that the waste is deposited in it till such time that it is collected by the garbage truck. This will go a long way in keeping the waste from spreading in the vicinity.
