Cong attacks govt over vet courses, cyberage scheme

PANJIM: The Congress party Thursday attacked the government for stopping to send students for veterinary courses conducted in other states, while spending crores of rupees on MLAs to go on foreign junkets. The government has stopped funding students even though there are no veterinary colleges in the State.

Congress spokesman Sunil Kawthankar told media that they wanted this practice to be restarted immediately. “They have stopped this. We want government to restart this. There are no (veterinary) colleges in Goa.”
The Congress demanded that government re-look into the laptop and notepad distribution as they are not of any use. “The parents and people in the educational field complain saying that there is no educational content. We want the government to step in and rectify the problem,” Kawthankar said.
He also said that the government should look into the problem of the Class XII Physics paper at the Board examination, alleging that many questions were out of syllabus even as he criticized the disproportionate use of force allegedly under political instructions, on striking workers at Azad Maidan. “It was unwarranted and disproportionate police force that was used,” he argued.
