MARGAO: Congress ticket aspirants from Cuncolim constituency, advocate John Monteiro and Devendra Dessai have hit out at Congress vice president Moti Dessai for his statements during the launch campaign of Curtorim ZP Member Clafasio Dias and have called for action to be initiated against him by the party.
While Devendra said he would complaint against Moti to vice president Rahul Gandhi, Monteiro said he had full faith in GPCC president Luizinho Faleiro, Goa in charge Digvijay Singh, AICC secretary Girish Chodankar and AICC secretary Chella Kumar at the next PCC meeting.
Both said that Moti had no right to make declarations about Clafasio. Monteiro referred to the recent meeting where Chella Kumar had said that the Congress ticket will be declared two months in advance. Devendra pointed out to the selection criteria framework in the party and called for the Cuncolim block to follow the same procedure and that such comments by Moti undermined the same.
Monteiro accused Moti of having vested interest in backing Dias and called for Moti’s removal as vice-president.
Both the Congress members ridiculed Moti’s example of the monthly Congress magazine.
