Cyclone hitting TN won’t affect Goa

Panjim: The cylone ‘Nivar’, which is set to hit the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts by Wednesday, will have no adverse impact on Goa. 

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the Cyclone Nivar is likely to cross Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts between Karaikal and Mamallapuram late in the evening on November 25.

“However, as per the latest observation, it will have no adverse weather impact on Goa,” IMD said. 

The IMD  added that the cyclone will cross as a severe cyclonic storm with a wind speed of 120-130 kmph gusting to 145 kmph.

“It is likely to move west-northwestwards for next 12 hours and then northwestwards,” IMD said.
