Bicholim: A father-in-law and his daughter-in-law lost their lives while other two occupants in the car in which they were travelling were badly injured in a head-on collision between a KTC bus and an alto car at Nanoda-Bicholim on Thursday at around 10.30 in the morning.
Mahadev Raut, 66, and Sonali Raut, 32, both the residents of Varchawada, Sal breathed their last as they met with the fatal mishap yesterday while Shubada Redkar, 65, resident of Banda and Ashish Parab, 42, from Sal have been undergoing treatment at GMC, Bambolim.
The incident took place near the Puja Guest House when the car was going from Sal, Kasarpal to Mapusa while the KTC bus was coming from the opposite direction.
While two were shifted to the GMC in the 108 ambulance, two others were trapped in the car who were later removed by Bicholim fire tender.
The scene of the incident is a risky, curvy turn where a proposed bridge was opposed in the gram sabha. Dodamarg police conducted the panchnama while the Bicholim PI Suraj Gawas and his team are further investigating the case. The bodies of both the deceased have been sent to GMC for the autopsy.
