Goa deposits Rs 2 cr in NMET

PANJIM: Goa government has deposited over Rs 2 crore in the Central government’s National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET), which will be utilized for regional mineral exploration through special studies and projects.

PANJIM: Goa government has deposited over Rs 2 crore in the Central government’s National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET), which will be utilized for regional mineral exploration through special studies and projects.
As such, the Union Ministry for Mines has asked Goa to submit a detailed exploration of mineral projects for the State which could be taken up under NMET.
NMET has started receiving payments from mining rich States, of a sum equivalent to 2 percent of the royalty paid in terms of minerals listed in the MMDR Act 2015.
