Goans were struck with profound sorrow on Friday morning as they received the shocking news of the demise of Advocate Dr Manohar Sinai Usgaokar. Dr Usgaokar, who had served as the former Additional Solicitor General of India and former Advocate General of Goa, possessed remarkable expertise in Portuguese laws, making significant contributions to the field. His profound understanding of Portuguese law and his translations have proven invaluable to both lawyers and judges alike.
Dr Usgaonkar’s funeral was held in Panjim on Friday and was attended by a number of mourners paying their final respect.
Adv. Manohar Usgaonkar was the Former Advocate General of Goa and Former Additional Solicitor General of India. ‘The Marvel’ the book authored by Late Adv Usgaonkar was one among the several books that have been written by him. Manohar Usgaonkar was a prominent jurist well versed in Portuguese law and his translation of the Portuguese laws is today useful to both lawyers as well as judges.
