PORVORIM: An illegal construction was demolished at Socorro on the basis of the order passed by North Goa Collector Rajesh Ajgaonkar on Wednesday.
The illegal construction built in Survey No. 59/19 at Bhutkiwada, Socorro, by Ashok Tari was identified and marked for demolition and the earthmoving machinery brought down the structure in the presence of police force.

The North Goa Deputy Collector had issued the demolition order on July 18, 2023 and directed the police department, PWD, Electricity Department and other departments concerned to send their officials during the demolition process.
Socorro Sarpanch Soniya Pednekar, Panch Rajan Parsekar, Gauri Valvaikar, Sunny Shetgaonkar, Secretary Satish Gawas, Mamlatdar Pravin Gawas and police forces were present at the site in large numbers.
