MARGAO: Loutolim villagers approved the draft Gram Panchayat Development Plan at the special gram sabha held on October 2 wherein representatives from the Health Department and Agriculture Department assisted the people in preparing the plan.
Agriculture Department representative explained in detail the various schemes available for the public and emphasised the need for all farmers to prepare their Krishi Cards to avail of these schemes.
Official of the Primary Health Centre explained how they function and pointed out that they are responsible for the healthcare of 35,839 people from Loutolim, Camorlim, Raia, Rachol and Nuvem whom they serve with the help of two ambulances.
The villagers submitted 84 proposals to be included in the GPDP and many of them were pertaining to construction of roads and drains, health and sanitation, education, agriculture and garbage management.
Earlier the findings of the three day programme that included sectoral visits and focus group discussions were presented to the gram sabha based on which the draft GPDP was prepared.
