The decision to revive the canteen service comes in response to the demands of both artists and the general public. RBM recently issued a tender notice for the canteen service following appeals from the audience and artists who struggled without access to refreshments at the cultural centre. Visitors, including enthusiasts of the local tiatr art form, had urged authorities, including Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, to reopen the canteen, which was closed during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Agnelo Fernandes, Member Secretary of RBM, explained that the canteen area had suffered damage during the period of inactivity, with broken tiles and other issues. “We have renovated the entire canteen area, investing around Rs three lakh, and are now ready to resume the service,” he confirmed.
