MARGAO: Former Nuvem sarpanch Pausilipo Dourado has said that the Maina Curtorim Police had mistaken added his name in an FIR regarding a fight that had taken place last Sunday.
According to Dourado, he was passing though Nuvem in his car when he saw two groups having an argument. One group was of locals and the other was from Bihar.
Dourado called the police on 100 number three times. He even requested the police to send women constables since two women from Bihar were involved in the fight.
“There was an accident between a local and a Bihari. That’s why the fight started. Maina Curtorim police called me on my number to ask where the location was. The two women from Bihar wanted to take away the bike, but the local boys stopped them. The women started arguing with the locals. One of the women even removed a matchbox to light the bike on fire but the locals stopped them. I asked the police to send constables. The police came and took them away but at the police station when filing the FIR, they included my name,” he said adding that he clarified everything to the police and he even showed them call record.
“The police have admitted that my name has wrongly been added in the FIR and they said that they would close the matter,” the former sarpanch said.
