MARGAO: The Fire and Emergency Services had to rush to Fatorda and Betalbatim to douse two fire-related incidents that had occurred in those respective areas.
In Fatorda, an old and abandoned house near Ravindra Bhavan was engulfed in a fire.

Incidentally this is the second time that this house had caught fire and concerns were raised that areas near the house such as the vegetation and a chapel near the house could catch fire if there is another such fire incident.
Margao Municipal Councillor Vitorino Tavares rushed to the site and called the Fire Brigade that doused the fire soon after. Questions were raised about how this place that had caught fire in March caught fire again and if there were any miscreants behind the same. Tavares called for an inquiry and action against the persons responsible.
Elsewhere in Betalbatim, at the main road junction near the Church, the area surrounding a transformer had caught fire.
The Fire Brigade had rushed to the site to douse the fire and concerns were raised about the damage caused to the transformer and how this would affect the power supply in the locality. The Fire brigade officials had to be extra careful while dousing the fire.
