In a tragic accident, a young professional dancer from Baina-Vasco was killed at Betalbatim on early Sunday morning.
Colva police said the deceased Nigel Cajetan Fonseca (23) was proceeding home from Colva on his motorcycle when he met with an accident involving a bus coming from the opposite directions.
The police said the young lad died on the spot. The post mortem examination will be conducted on Monday.
Replying to a question, the Colva police said the police are investigating into the accident and will register a case after the post mortem examination.
Vasco reporter adds: The dancers’ fraternity from Vasco expressed grief over tragic death of Nigel Cajetan Fonseca, who was killed in an accident at Betalbatim early Sunday morning.
“He was one of the promising dancers of Goa,” they expressed.
The Dance Sport Association of Goa and international medalist in ballroom dance Dr Martins of Dance Illusion’ said Nigel was one of the promising dancers of Goa and he was a founder member of Dance Illusion.
“It is a big shock for dance fraternity, as Nigel was quiet famous and he was down to earth person,” said Dr Martins.
Unbeatable Dance Academy chief Tushar Volviokar said Nigel has left his footprint during the dance performance and on many occasions.
, he led the floats during the Carnival festival.
Nigel’s family member informed that in another three days, he was supposed to fly for Dubai for a job.
