ANJUNA: The Anjuna police have arrested a youth for allegedly blackmailing and demanding sexual favours from his female friend.
According to PI Prashal Desai, a complaint was lodged by a woman residing at Anjuna, alleging that she had received objectionable photographs of herself from various Instagram accounts.

The person behind these accounts continued to make further demands for sexual favours, accompanied by threats of severe consequences if she refused.
A team led by Desai was assembled, and a raid was conducted at the suspect’s residence. During the operation, a laptop and a mobile phone were seized, confirming that the accused was an old friend of the complainant.
The Anjuna police arrested the accused, identified as Kunal Mayekar, 21, a resident of Mapusa. He has been charged under IPC Sections 354-A, C, D, 509, and 506(ii). The court has granted a four-day remand for further investigation.
