Curtorim trounce Guardian Angel

PANJIM: Curtorim Gymkhana trounced Guardian Angel Sports Club 5-1 in GFA under-14 football tournament, at Quepem ground, Sunday. Curtorim led 2-1 at half time.
Curtorim surged ahead in the fourth minute through Raghunath Gawas off a pass from Macancy Fernandes.
Curtorim doubled their lead in the 21st minute when Howay Rebello’s powerful shot bulged the net.
Guardian Angel pulled one back in the 27th minute.
After resumption, Curtorim inflated their tally in the 43rd minute through Jovin Seby D’Mello off a pass from Myron Fernandes. Howay again netted for Curtorim in the 49th minute after receiving a long diagonal pass from Boney Fernandes.
Curtorim scored their fifth goal in the 69th minute when Macwill Fernandes slotted past the rival goalkeeper off a pass from Alister Costa.
Meanwhile, Salgaocar FC hammered Cortalim Gym 6-0 while Pax of Nagoa crushed Dabolim YSC 10-1.
Dempo SC (Jrs) drubbed Aivao United FC 5-0 in GFA under-16 play-off.
Our Margao correspondent adds — On Saturday, Sirlim Sports Club scored a convincing 3-0 win over Salcete Football Club at SAG ground, Assolna. There was no score at half time.
After the break, Sirlim raided the rival goal regularly. Desmond Fernandes drew first blood soon after resumption. Janu Karpe doubled the lead while Stanley Fernandes drove the final nail into the rival coffin.
