MARDOL: Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda downed Raia Sporting Club 6-2 after trailing by two goals to move into quarter-finals of 33rd Mardol Trophy, at Mardol ground, on Tuesday.
Raia Sporting surged ahead in the 4th minute through lloyd Cardozo’s angular drive from outside the box to take the lead.
Six minutes later, Francis Andrade’s shot hit the Raia crossbar and rebounded to Ashley Araujo’s feet who missed open chance.
In 18th minute, Stephen Alvares converted through penalty kick for Raia Sporting.
In the 20th minute, Don Bosco’s Francis Andrade dribbled past the Raia defenders and sent pass to Cliff Barreto who slotted past the Raia keeper to make it 1-2.
In 26th minute, Don Bosco’s Roque Borges missed a sitter to level the terms. In the 28th minute, Don Bosco’s Cliff Barretto’s corner-kick was nicely headed by John Colaco to level the score 2-2.
In the 32nd minute, Don Bosco’s Ashley Araujo was brought down by a Raia defender in penalty area and the penalty was converted by Francis Andrade to make 3-2 .
In 45th minute, Veldon D’Souza made it 4-2 with with a placement shot.
Raia defender Shouky Cardoz scored an own goal to make 5-2 for Fatorda.
In the 65th minute, Rahul Fernandes made 6-2 in favour of Fatorda.
Raia tried to get back in the game but they missed many chances to get back on level terms. Their strikers lacked urgency in the final third.
