CALANGUTE: A solitary goal by Gammy Costa helped Parish Youth Nuvem ground Holiday Club, Arpora to move into semi-finals of All-Goa Lakhanpal Novino inter-village football tournament organized by Candolim Sports Club, at Dr Gustavo Monteiro ground, Candolim, Thursday.

Nuvem could have forged ahead in the fourth minute but Gammy’s effort was cleared on goalline by Arpora’s Sagar Gaonkar.
After a slow start, Arpora played good short passes and came close to scoring in the 15th minute but Gaurish Naik’s shot straight into the waiting hands of rival custodian Alvaro.
Subsequently, five minutes later, Nuvem’s Maurice’s try went inches over the crossbar while Savio Pereira missed the mark narrowly for Arpora.
Changing over, the teams came close to scoring on couple of occasions but their forwards failed to find the net. However, Gammy scored the all-important goal in the dying minutes off a Jose Colaco assist.
