PANJIM: Margao Cricket Club defeated Seiko Club by 89 runs to clinch the 34th Nanda Lolayekar Cricket Trophy in the tournament organised by Mashem Cricket Club, at Nirakar Maidan Dapot, Mashem-Canacona, on Sunday.
Margao Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat scoring 276 runs losing six wickets in 35 overs.
Darshan Misal top-scored with 85 runs followed by Nikhil Naik 67, Kinan Vaz 41 and Suraj Dongre 36. Vedant Naik claimed two wickets giving away 26 runs while Deeparaj Gaokar and Rahul Tripathi took one wicket each.
In reply, Seiko Club scored 187 runs losing all wickets in 29.3 overs. Rahul Tripathi 63, Deeparaj Gaokar 38, Snehal Kavthankar 29 were the scorers. Sherbahadur Yadav 5/40 and Amit Yadav 3/40 were at their best.
Individual awards are: Best batsman Darshan Misal, Best bowler Vinesh Satarkar, Man-of-the-Match Sherbahadur Yadav, Man-of-the-Tournament Amogh Desai.
