PANJIM: The Goa Cricket Association (GCA) General Secretary, Vinod Phadke has been name as manager of the India team for the India-South Africa series starting on October 2.
Phadke will manage three T20’s and five One-Day matches. India play South Africa in the first T20 on October 2 in Dharmashala.
Phadke started his career as manager of the Indian team in 2006 with the U-19 team when Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma were part of the squad.
Phadke was also the Manager of the U-19 Australia quadrangular series in 2013 and the U-19 World Cup team that won the prestigious tournament.
He also went to New Zealand in 2013 as a BCCI co-ordinator.
Having been involved with cricket in India for long, Phadke enjoys excellent relations with individuals who have been and are at the helm of BCCI.
