St Francis Xavier HS, Siolim thumped St Theresa HS, Candolim 5-0 in Subroto U-17 football tournament, organised by DSYA at Peddem complex here on Monday.
Kadar Kundalkar scored in the first half for SFX. It was only in the second half that SFX got into their groove. Goals from Prasad Vengunlekar, Raymond D’Souza, Milton Fernandes and a second for Kadar Kundalkar completed the impressive win for SFX.
DM Kushe HS, Assagao defeated Holy Cross, Bastora 3-1. The match was goalless at the break.
In the second half, goals from Dennis Fernandes, Kartik Diwkar and Kalpesh Gadekar gave Kushe the edge. Amar Kinkelkar had netted a consolation goal for Holy Cross.
In another match, St Joseph HS, Calangute were surprisingly taken to penalties before they overcame St Ann’s HS, Tivim 3-2. Josten D’Souza, Clifton Fernandes and Edward D’Silva converted for St Joseph’s. Augustinho Fernandes and Soham Varhanhkar were on the mark for Tivim.
