St Joseph Vaz, DM’s, PCCE, Shree Damodar, Quepem and Sridora Caculo move into next round

PANJIM: St Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim, scored a solitary goal win over G R Kare College of Law, Margao, to move ahead in the Goa University’s Inter-Collegiate Football Men’s Championship 2023-24 played at Goa University ground, Taleigao Plateau, on Friday

The only goal of the match came in the 55th minute from the efforts of Shubham Gauns.

In the second match of the day, D M’s College and Research Centre, Assagao, defeated an equally balanced team Govt College, Khandola, 2-1.

D M’s College opened the scoring through Nicholas D’Costa in the first half. 

In the second half, DM’s College doubled their lead by a graceful goal of Nicholas D’Costa. Govt College, Khandola, scored the consolation goal in the 68th minute through Deep Marshelkar.

PCCE, Verna, move ahead defeating Dhempe College 4-2. In the first half, PCCE showed full dominance scoring three goals, which came from Bloyton Estrocio, Aaron Cardozo and Ivan De Cunha. Crossing over, PCCE, Verna, increased their tally through Rahul Halarnkar 4-0. Fighting back, Dhempe College netted two goals in quick succession. Aditya Balekar and AnantNagoji scored. Defending well PCCE, Verna, did not allow any more goals to Dhempe College and sealed the victory 4-2.

At Rosary College ground, Navelim: Shree Damodar College, Margao, showed full domination by defeating GVM’s College, Ponda, 5-0.

For Shree Damodar College, Nayab Khan and Gavrav Singh scored one each in the first half. 

On resumption of play, Shree Damodar College scored another three goals. Gavrav Singh increased the lead and Nayab Khan scored a brace and registered his hat-trick in the 60th minute.

Govt College, Quepem and Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, went to a tie-breaker with a full time score of 0-0. The game was finally decided through a tie-breaker in which Agnel Institute of Technology and Design, Assagao, won by a 4-3 score.

Sridora Caculo College defeated Govt College, Borda, 5-1. In the first half, Sridora Caculo College scored three goals. Aryan Poll netted a brace and Saideep Pomburpa netted one.Sohail scored one for Govt College, Borda. 

Crossing over, Caculo College scored another three goals, which came from the efforts of Aryan Poll, Saideep Pomburpa and Aman Govekar, one each, to seal the victory.
