United Club of Benaulim beat CRC, Chinchinim 1-0 to enter the quarter-finals of 34th St Joseph Festival inter-village football tournament organised by Dramapur Sports Club at Dramapur ground on Wednesday.
The all-important goal came in the second half through Agnelo Rodrigues who connected a Rody Fernandes corner.
United Club of Benaulim nearly broke the deadlock midway in the opening session but Charles Rodrigues muffed a sitter with only the CRC goalkeeper to beat.
CRC came close to neutralizing the lead but striker Ashvy Rebello was the worst offender as he spurned an easy chance with only the rival goalkeeper at his mercy.
