The Fatorda Police initially attempted to stop the public address on the microphone with loudspeakers as they said the party had no permission to use it.

Vijai Sardesai, president of Goa Forward Party said that the National Crime Review Board says that 87 rapes happen in Uttar Pradesh per day which is ruled by the BJP government. The people running the State and UP are the same. They have declared that the next election will be held on the basis of religion and plan to make the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister their next Prime Minister.

Vijai also questioned the need of keeping the Prohibitory Orders in Goa while the entire country has unlocked. “We are going from the frying pan to the fire,” he said.
