Governor interacts with inmates of Missionaries of Charity

PANJIM: Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, on the eve of the 76th Independence Day of India, interacted with the inmates of Missionaries of Charities during their visit to Raj Bhavan at Dona Paula.

The inmates were drawn from its various centres such as Panjim, Fatorda, Quepem and Carambolim.

The interactive meet was a part of the three-day ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations being held at Raj Bhavan. 

The Governor on this occasion announced that Raj Bhavan will provide financial assistance of Rs 1lakh to each centre. He also assured to extend full support to the Missionaries of Charity and appreciated the humanitarian services rendered by them. The inmates sang a song of independence on the occasion. 

The Governor was accompanied by his wife Adv Reetha Sreedharan Pillai. Secretary to Governor, Mihir Vardhan, IAS (Retd) was also present.
