Beautify Vasco with ornate greenery

It is believed that trees are the lungs of any city. If so Vasco is gasping for breath.  The road-divider along the FL Gomes road is totally neglected. The Port Town has witnessed a steady depletion of the green-cover over the past decade or so. Unplanned growth has meant that huge concrete monsters have come up. As a result of this, except for the municipal garden, there is hardly any open space for the residents. The traffic island at the bus stand has been devoid of greenery for several years.  Planting of ornamental plants will bring beauty to this traffic island. Thanks to a philanthropist, the street from the St Andrew’s church square to the Railway station has been tastefully decorated with ornamental plants, so also is the promenade in front of the municipal building. But the rest of the city lies in total neglect. Trees add beauty to any city. Hopefully civic authorities will realize this and take steps to increase the green-cover of the Port Town.
