PANJIM: Andrade Brothers, Siridao thumped Vailankanni Boys, Calangute 4-0 in the final of Trawler Owners Cup floodlit football all-Goa tournament, organized by Siridao Boys, at River Plate ground, Siridao, on Sunday.
Andrade Brothers dominated the match right from the start as Elvis opened the account in the 20th minute to send the home crowd in raptures.
The Calangute team did try to make a come back buy Tony saw his effort go wide off the target.
In the second session, Andrade Brothers continued attackingly and Nerry netted the second while Ganesh made it 3-0. Suraj rounded off the tally in the final quarter with a fine strike.
The winners were awarded Rs 40,000 while the runners-up had to be content with Rs 30,000. Individual prizes were awarded to man-of-the-match Ganesh, best goalkeeper Royal, best manager Rohidas, first goal Elvis (all from Andrade Brothers), best player of the tournament Myron of United FC (Siridao) and best disciplined team Vailankanni Boys and best sporting spirit manager Tony of Vailankanni Boys.
Jagdish Bhobe, sarpanch village panchayat Goa Velha was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of guest of honour Peter Gomes; sarpanch of village panchayat Siridao Antonio Afonso, Menino Afonso, Francis D’Souza, Francis Fernandes, Board of Directors of Mandovi Fisherman Marketing.
