The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which recently emerged in the national spotlight following student-led protests over examination-related issues, has announced a major organisational expansion by unveiling a 14-member National Working Committee. The move marks the outfit’s first significant step towards building a nationwide structure while reaffirming its focus on public engagement rather than conventional electoral politics.
The announcement came just hours after CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke revealed plans for a nationwide campaign titled ‘Kya Bolti Public’, aimed at interacting directly with citizens across India and understanding their concerns. Through the initiative, the organisation hopes to gather public opinion on issues affecting the country’s youth, particularly education, employment and governance.

Sharing the development on social media platform X, the CJP officially introduced its newly constituted National Working Committee. Dipke has been appointed the party’s National Convener, while journalist Saurav Das and Ashutosh Rana will serve as Co-Conveners. Aafreen Nawaz has been named the National Secretary, responsible for coordinating organisational activities.
The committee also includes Ajinkya Shinde as the National Organisation In-Charge, with Deepak Baliyan serving as Organisation Co-Incharge. Vijay Reddy Mallangi has been appointed Media Lead, Ratna Singh will oversee Legal Affairs, and Vaishnavi Gaur has been entrusted with Research and Policy. Rohan Deshpande will head the party’s Technology division, while Yogesh Ingale has been given charge of Finance.
In addition to the national leadership team, the CJP has announced a zonal structure to strengthen its organisational network across the country. Deepak Baliyan has been assigned responsibility for the North Zone, Vijay Reddy Mallangi will oversee the South Zone, Ankit Bharadwaj will coordinate activities in the East and North-East, while Yogesh Ingale has been entrusted with the West Zone.
Earlier in the day, Dipke outlined the objectives of the upcoming ‘Kya Bolti Public’ campaign during a press conference held after the party’s core committee meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. According to him, the initiative is designed to create a direct dialogue with citizens and better understand the challenges they face in their daily lives.
He said the organisation aims to function as a pressure group that influences public policy by amplifying issues concerning education and unemployment. Dipke stressed that previous political systems had often failed to listen to the aspirations of young people and that the campaign would focus on ensuring the voices of Generation Z are heard.
“Now is the time to listen to the public,” Dipke said, adding that the organisation does not want to repeat the mistakes made by earlier political movements. He argued that young Indians, who constitute a majority of the country’s population, deserve a greater role in shaping policies that directly affect their future.
The campaign, he said, will involve extensive stakeholder consultations across different regions to understand people’s expectations and concerns before advocating for policy changes.
Reflecting on the recent student protests that propelled the CJP into the national spotlight, Dipke described the resignation of former Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the movement’s biggest achievement. According to him, the protests demonstrated that young citizens could successfully challenge those in power and reclaim their voice in national discourse.
With the formation of its national leadership and the launch of a countrywide public outreach programme, the Cockroach Janta Party is seeking to transform itself from a student-led movement into a structured national platform focused on education, employment and youth participation in policymaking.
