Goa’s Bibiano Fernandes is set to take charge of the India U-15 men’s national team for the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival, scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in October. On the recommendation of the AIFF Technical Committee, the AIFF Executive Committee approved Fernandes’ appointment as head coach, subject to his acceptance.
The appointment is a significant recognition of Fernandes’ contribution to Indian youth football. The Goan coach has built a strong reputation for developing young players and guiding India’s age-group teams, making his credentials difficult to overlook as the country prepares for the new global youth competition.

AIFF has also approved Ranjit Bajaj as team manager. Under tournament regulations, India’s contingent will comprise 20 members — six staff and 14 players.
