The Congress Block of the Siolim Constituency has raised concerns over alleged substandard road work and poor-quality infrastructure in Assagao, calling for greater accountability and supervision by the authorities.
At a press conference held in Assagao, Congress members Parvati Nagvekar, Rajan Savllo Ghate, Chandan Mandrekar, Kapil Kishor Korgaonkar, Gajanan Tilve, Roshan Chodankar, Mocambo, Yogesh Govekar and Lawrence questioned the quality of ongoing road works and alleged a lack of coordination between various government departments.
The Congress leaders criticised the Public Works Department (PWD) and Electricity Department, alleging negligence and improper execution of works in the area.
They also questioned the role of Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo, alleging that insufficient attention has been given to issues faced by local residents.
The Congress Block demanded accountability from the concerned authorities and called for road works to be carried out to proper quality standards, with effective supervision and better coordination between government departments.
The leaders said improved coordination and monitoring were necessary to prevent inconvenience to residents and ensure that public infrastructure works are executed properly.
